EUKARYOTIC CELL
Hello all, this week microbiology class we learned about the eukaryotic cell. the first day of class Dr. Wan told us to create a quiz or a game about eukaryotic cell. In the group we discuss and brainwahed ourself to create this. we using Kahoot! app. to create the quiz. Kahoot! is very interesting and fun app to work on. It easy to use and very effective and fun also enjoying. Below are the link of our quiz in Kahoot!: https://create.kahoot.it/l/#quiz/3a85e815-b0d6-4b71-bda8-458f2f295c8f
I will like to share a bit about the eukaryotic cell. there are 9 type of organelles in eukaryotic cells. there are nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, golgi complex, lysosome, vacuoles mitochondria, chloroplast, peroxisomes, and centrosomes. Not all are found in all cells. It could be based on specialization, age and level of activity. Nucleus contain almost all the cell's hereditary information (DNA). The functions are house and protect cell's genetic information(DNA), the largest structure of the cell. RER functions are synthesis and modification of proteins. Synthesis of cell and organelle membranes. The function for SER is lipid synthesis, break down of toxic compounds. and also help develop tolerance to drugs and alcohol.

Golgi apparatus are made up cisterns, it receive proteins synthesized by rough ER. The functions are as receiving side, it receives proteins in transport vesicles from ER. Next as modifies proteins into final shape, sorts and labels them for proper transport. Lysosome formed from golgi complexes. It act as destruction of foreign material, digestion of food particles taken in by cell and etc. I think thats all I can share for this.
In our next class, Dr Wan told us to find out about the Journal that have been published and try to understand the information in the journal. Our organelle is vacuole. We find some journal related to vacuole but we choose only one you can see the journal here:
To summarize the journal is about the Gas vacuole. The gas vacuoles functions as light shields it reduce amount of light absorbed by photosynthetic pigments, the arrangement of gas vacuoles determine whether or not they serve as light shield. It also function as floating device. It suggest that gas vacuoles may protect cells from high light intensity and decrease damage photobleaching.
That's all I can share for this week I will update more next week. See you guys later. :)
